Pamukkale or the Aspendos, Perge and Manavgat Waterfall Day?

Aspendos survived nearly whole — stage building, seating bowl and an acoustic good enough that performances are still staged there. Perge fills in the rest of a Roman city: a colonnaded street, gates, a stadium. Dense, well preserved, close to home. Hierapolis answers with a theatre carved into the slope above the terraces, then keeps going — a necropolis that startles people with its scale, Frontinus Street running out through monumental gates, temples and later churches, every stone of it there because scalding mineral water came out of this hillside. Look at what the Hierapolis theatre is and what else fills the ancient city before assuming the coastal circuit covers the same material.

The difference photographs never show: at Aspendos and Perge you look at antiquity. At Pamukkale you take your shoes off first and wade through warm, shallow calcite pools, because bare feet are the site rule that keeps the white white.

This is where the two days genuinely differ, and neither of us can spin it. The coastal circuit keeps its driving short, which is its whole appeal — ruins before the heat, home in time to swim. Ours does not pretend: from Antalya hotels it is about 3–3.5 hours each way, from Side roughly 4–4.5, from Alanya nearer 4.5–5, and 11–14 hours door to door depending on which of our thirty pickup areas you sit in. Pickup is early morning; the exact time is confirmed with your booking, never printed as a blanket figure, because it is not the same at every hotel.

The short day buys a beach afternoon. The long one buys a landscape you will describe to people for years. Price that trade with the real hours in front of you, not a brochure sentence.

We publish our side plainly: €50 per person, flat, everyone aged 4+, infants 0–3 free, from every pickup area between Tekirova and Gazipaşa. Inside that sits hotel pickup and drop-off, the air-conditioned coach, a licensed guide, travel insurance and three meals — breakfast during the morning drive, lunch near Pamukkale, dinner on the way home. Entrance tickets are deliberately outside it: official gate prices are set by the site administration and move with the season, so you pay the real tariff rather than a padded guess buried in ours. We will not quote a price for the coastal day — we do not sell it, and an invented number would be worthless to you. Ask whoever does sell it the four questions we answer above: drop-off or pickup only, meals included or bought en route, entrance tickets in or out, and is a licensed guide with you at the ruins. Compared on those four lines, most people find the two days barely compete on price at all.

Keep the coastal circuit if your holiday is short, if a full day away from the pool would cost the trip its mood, or if someone in the party genuinely cannot sit on a coach for hours — we would rather you enjoyed that half-day than resented ours. Keep Pamukkale if this is the culture day of the holiday, the one you will show people. A week leaves room for both, and the coastal ruins slot easily around a Pamukkale day; the city-day comparison is there if Kaleiçi is what else tempts you.
